Kenya Power has announced scheduled power interruptions in Mombasa and four other counties on Friday, June 6.
According to the notice, parts of Mombasa County, specifically the Bombolulu area, will be affected between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
Areas to experience the blackout include Naivas Supermarket Bombolulu, Kisimani, Makaburini and surrounding regions.
In the Central Rift region, residents of Nakuru County will also face interruptions from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Affected areas include Kinamba, Kinungi, NYS, Uwezo Millers, Vashma Mabati, Fai Amarillo, Kayole Makutano, Sanell, Ma-raro, Safari Center, Keroche Breweries, Karai, Laini, Roka Industries, Maraigushu, Brilliant Slaughter, Nyondia, Karati, Live Wire, Kariki, Rift Valley Roses, Gatamaiyu and nearby customers.

In Nyandarua County, the blackout will occur from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., impacting Engineer, Miharati, Njambini, Murungaru, Munyaka, Mike Eden, Yanga, Ndothua, Sasumua Dam, Kiboro, Ndunyu Njeru, Memo, Ndinda, Mumui, Tigoni, Machinery, Kabati, Foot Hill School, Mubau, Mukiri, Munyuini and surrounding areas.
The North Rift region will also see outages in parts of Nandi County, where Kapsabet and surrounding areas such as Namgoi, Kapsabet Boys, Mother Francisca, St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Kamobo, and Kokwet will be without power between 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
In the Western region, parts of Kakamega County including Shimanyiro, Jamindaz, Shimanyiro Market, Eshishiru Market, Shibuli Market, Jamindas, Elwesero, Emasai, Maondo and neighboring areas will experience power cuts from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
In the North Eastern and Central Rift regions, Mai Mahiu and surrounding locations will be affected between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
These include River Springs Hotel, Mayers, Namja, China Wu-Yi, Gold Stone Quarry, Manyata Quarry, Yellow Stones Quarry, Kingston Quarry, Ewaso Kedong Market, Najire Girls and the Earth Station.
