Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi has slammed Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei over his attacks on Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen.
In a statement on Wednesday, June 11, Sudi accused the Nandi Senator of targeting President William Ruto by attacking CS Murkomen.
Sudi challenged the UDA Senator to face President Ruto directly instead of attacking CS Murkomen.
The Kapseret lawmaker also alleged that Senator Cherargei's loyalty was with former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and urged him to switch sides freely.
“Stop going through the corners by attacking Interior CS Kipchumba Murkomen when you know very well it's President William Ruto you are targeting. Man up and face him directly. We are not fools, and we know that your heart is in Wamunyoro's camp. Be bold and cross over to serve your master freely,” Sudi stated.

Cherargei on Wednesday clashed with CS Murkomen after he appeared in the Senate to answer questions over the mysterious murder of Albert Ojwang.
The Nandi Senator called for Murkomen’s resignation, saying that the Ministry of Interior was suffering from a leadership crisis.
"The Ministry of Interior suffers from a leadership crisis, and it is good that the nation has seen the incompetence of CS Murkomen on this matter. If anybody has to resign, we must start with the CS he must be held accountable.
"It is high time the President does a cabinet reshuffle and takes CS Murkomen back to Sports because he likes bringing games to the business that we are discussing in this country," he said.
In response, CS Murkomen said Senator Cherargei's persistent criticisms against him are politically motivated.
The Interior CS accused Cherargei of making resignation demands regardless of the ministry he leads.
"When I was the minister of roads, Cherargei was arguing that I should resign because people were dying in road accidents. When I left the ministry, he kept quiet. When I went to the ministry of sports, it was the same Cherargei who said I must resign; since I left the ministry, he has never talked about the performance of volleyball or football teams. When I came to this ministry, he never waited for more than 2 months, he was saying I should resign," said Murkomen.
Further, CS Murkomen took a personal jab at Cherargei, claiming he once taught him and he was a poor performer in class.
"Senator Cherargei was my student; I taught him more than two subjects, and his performance was below average; he has no legitimacy to question my competence or performance," he remarked.
