The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has announced that a section of Mombasa Road near Naivas JKIA will experience traffic disruption along the Mombasa-bound Service lanes.

In a notice on Wednesday, June 11, KeNHA said the disruption will be from Saturday, June 14, 2025, at 9.00 pm to Sunday, June 15, 2025, at 10.00 am.

“The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) wishes to notify the public that a section of Mombasa Road (A8) near Naivas JKIA will experience traffic disruption along the Mombasa bound Service lanes from Saturday, 14th June, 2025 at 9.00 pm to Sunday, 15th June, 2025 at 10.00 am,” read the notice in part.

KeNHA noted that the temporary closure of the section will allow the installation of the fabricated footbridge beams of the Syokimau Railway Footbridge.

KeNHA also said police officers and traffic marshals will be on site and advised motorists to cooperate with them.

“KeNHA advises motorists to follow the proposed traffic management plan below and cooperate with the police and traffic marshals on site,” KeNHA added.

This comes days after the authority temporarily closed a section of the Nairobi Southern Bypass near the entrance of the China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) Camp.

The section was temporarily closed to allow the installation of stress-strain sensors on the highway pavement.

"The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) wishes to notify the public that a section of the Nairobi Southern Bypass near the entrance of the CRBC Camp, opposite the Nairobi National Park, will experience a temporary traffic disruption," the notice read.
