National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula’s Ford Kenya Party has condemned police brutality in the country.
Addressing the media on Thursday, June 19, Ford Kenya elected leaders said their agreement with the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) in the Kenya Kwanza coalition is not based on murder but development.
“Ford Kenya does not support any murder of any citizen in Kenya. We appreciate the sanctity of human life.
“Our agreement with UDA in Kenya Kwanza alliance is based on development, it is not based on murder, and therefore we condemn any cases where a Kenyan citizen has been murdered,” said Tongaren MP John Chikati.
The lawmaker went on to say the Ford Kenya party supports President William Ruto in finding a solution to police brutality.

“We support the president in his initiative in finding a solution so that anybody involved in murder can face the law,” Chikati added.
Bungoma Senator David Wakoli also condemned the murder of Albert Ojwang and mask hawker Boniface Kariuki, who was shot during protests in Nairobi CBD.
“What we are saying as a party, any death of any Kenyan anywhere, we condemn it fully. Not only the death of Albert Ojwang or the hawker who was shot in the streets, remember there was a priest who was shot dead by bandits, and there are over 20 Turkana fishermen who died in Lake Turkana,” Wakoli stated.
The Bungoma Senator reiterated that the Ford Kenya Party is in solidarity with Kenyans against the use of excessive force by law enforcement agencies.
“We are standing in solidarity with Kenyans against any brutality by law enforcement agencies. We stand with Kenyans and also with the government of Kenya to ensure it calls to order those who are not respecting the sanctity of life,” Wakoli concluded.
