Former Teachers Service Commission (TSC) CEO Nancy Macharia has turned down the nomination to chair the Murang’a County Public Service Board.

In a notice on Thursday, June 26, the Murang’a County government revealed that Macharia declined the nomination, stating that she had received a job offer from the World Bank.

“Dr Nancy Macharia has declined our nomination on the basis that she has received another engagement for consulting for the World Bank. Whereas we wish her well, the county feels it has lost,” the notice read in part.

Murang’a Governor Irungu Kang’ata had nominated Macharia to chair the Murang’a County Public Service Board in a communication to the Murang’a County Assembly dated June 18.

Governor Kang’ata also nominated Dr. Louis Mwende Musikali, Johnson Kangethe Kinyua, Dr. Brian Lishenga Makamu, and Oscar Kimani Gathura (Secretary) to the board.
