The court heard that the incident occurred at around 8:00 PM on August 9, 2025, at the Carnivore Grounds in Langata Sub-County. Bella Comedy had attended the Kutit cultural event where she met other content creators and was enjoying music while creating online content.

It was during this content creation session that she encountered the accused person. The prosecution alleges that Motiryot dragged the comedian and assaulted her with kicks and blows, causing multiple injuries to her leg, stomach, and chest.
In addition to the robbery charges, Motiryot faces a separate charge of assault causing actual bodily harm for the physical injuries inflicted on the victim.
Appearing before Principal Magistrate Njagi, Motiryot pleaded not guilty to all charges. The court granted him release on a bond of Ksh500,000.
The case has been scheduled for mention on August 18, 2025, when further proceedings will be determined.
