Kenya Power has announced scheduled power cuts in several areas across Kericho, Nyamira, and Embu counties.

Kenya Power has announced that several areas across Kericho, Nyamira, and Embu counties will experience planned electricity outages on Monday, June 30.

In a public notice issued on Sunday, June 29, evening, the utility company said the interruptions are necessary to facilitate routine network maintenance.

Residents in Kaptalamwa and Sitotwet will be affected by a power blackout from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The outage will impact Kaptalamwa, Kenegut, Letting, Sitotwet, Kaitui, Kiplogoi, Chepkoiniik, Kabokyeek, Machorwa, Chepsoo, and surrounding areas.

The entire Nyamira Town and nearby locations will be without electricity from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Affected institutions and areas include Nyamira Referral Hospital, Kinara Hospital, Rangenyo Mission, Nyamaiya Market and Miruka Market.

Other affected areas are Kebirigo Tea Factory, Sang’anyi Tea Factory, Sironga Girls, Marindi, Makairo Market and Kiabonyoru.

Parts of Embu including Makengi, Ena, and Kithimu will also experience outages between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

Areas set to be affected include Gotv Booster, Ngemi Millers, Kithimu Market, St. Teresa’s, Mwangaza, Kiandundu, Ena Market and Kawanjara.

Rukira, Limbua Ena Facility, Ndatu, Kivwe Market, Muruatetu, Mbukori, Manyatta TIVET, Makengi, Karingari, Nembure, Kevote, and their surroundings will also be affected.
