ODM party has announced the passing of Hillary Masara, the son of Suna West MP, Peter Masara.

The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party has announced the passing of Hillary Masara, the son of Suna West Member of Parliament, Peter Masara.

In a statement on Monday, June 30, the party expressed sympathy with the grieving MP and his family during this difficult time.

“We commiserate with Hon. Peter Masara, MP for Suna West, for the loss of his beloved son Hillary,” the party said in a statement.

ODM extended prayers and support to the family, wishing them strength and grace as they mourn their loss.

“We pray for Mheshimiwa and his family to have God’s grace, strength and fortitude in this difficult time of grief. May the soul of Hillary RIP,” the statement added.

This comes about three months after Dagoretti North MP Beatrice Elachi lost her son, Elvis Murakana Namenya.

In a social media update on Tuesday, March 25, President William Ruto condoled with the MP's family, offering prayers and words of comfort to the grieving family. 

"May God grant Beatrice Elachi and the family strength to bear with the loss of their dear son, Elvis Murakana. Be comforted by the word of the Lord in Psalm 147:3: ‘He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. Rest In Peace, Elvis," he stated.

Elachi later revealed that her son died after being involved in a car accident.

Speaking during Elvis' requiem mass on Friday, March 28, Elachi detailed that her son had left the house around 10 pm to run some errands.

The MP added that Elvis had completed his errands and was heading back home when his car got a tyre burst.

In the process, he engaged the emergency brakes causing the car to skid.

Elvis was later taken to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries while in the ICU.

"He was in bed at 10:30 pm. He was called to run an errand. He rushed and did it well. When he was coming back, he got a tyre burst with the car. Young people do not know that when you are driving any car and it gets a tyre burst, do not engage the emergency brakes.

"The car will skid. What you just do is try to hold the steering wheel and ensure that you control the car. So in that, his brain moved that is what succumbed him," she disclosed.
