DCI boss Amin Mohamed has announced the arrest of 485 people over the chaos that was witnessed during the June 25 protests.
Speaking at the DCI Headquarters on Monday, June 30, Amis stated that 448 people had already been charged in court.
37 other suspects are still in police custody pending their arraignment in court.
With regard to the charges, the DCI boss revealed that some of the suspects were charged with murder.
Other suspects are facing charges relating to rape, gange rape, robbery with violence, incitement to violence, handling stolen goods among others.

"Intelligence and arrest records reveal that some individuals with specific instructions to attack public institutions and security installations were ferried in unmarked vehicles from particular areas that security agencies are currently looking into," he stated.
"Several firearms and police equipment were stolen during these attacks, and disturbingly, some of these weapons have already been used in violent robberies last night within the Naivasha Police Station area."
Equally, he revealed that his investigations had revealed that some individuals had sponsored goons to infiltrate the protests.
Amin stated that the sponsors were still being investigated, with arrests expected in the coming days.
He also clarified that former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua had not been summoned yet.
However, he maintained that should investigations establish his role in the chaos, he would be arrested.
