Kenya Power has announced scheduled power interruptions across five counties on Wednesday, July 2, 2025.

In a statement on Tuesday, July 2, the company said the affected regions include parts of Kisumu, Busia, Migori, Nyeri, and Kitui counties.

In Kisumu County, the outage will affect Masogo, Ngere Kagoro Market, Sangayo, Rutek, Miwani, Nyakoko School, Amilo, and adjacent customers. 

The maintenance in this region is scheduled from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Residents in Busia County, particularly those in Bumbe and Sigalame, will also experience outages during the same time.

Areas to be affected include Samia Girls, Sigalame High School, Buduong’i, Sio Port, Bumbe Technical, Busijo, Mmbaka, Nabuganda, and surrounding regions.

In Migori County, maintenance work is expected to take place from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 

Affected areas include parts of Migori Town, Namba, the whole of Mabera, Nyabohanse, Isibania, Motemorabu Village, Komomwamu Market, Nyakore, Nyakoge, Silori Simba Village, Solere Water Pump, Set Ajera Village, and nearby customers.

In the Mt. Kenya Region, power will be cut in parts of Nyeri County, specifically Itiati Market and its environs between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

The outage will affect Kiangurwe Village, Gachuiro, General China Market, Kariga-ini, Highlands Village, Gathu-ini Village, Mukonye, Kwa Karoki Village, Kiamucheru, Kihuri Village, Kianjuguma Village, Gikore, Gitunduti Market, as well as Safaricom and Airtel boosters in the area.

In Kitui County, areas under the North Eastern Region such as Kiongwe, Inyuu, and Uzombe will be affected from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The interruption will impact Kiongwe, Thua Secondary, Kwa Amutei, Kanguu, Inyuu, Kathande, Mangola, Kavaani, Kabati, Zombe, Kyululu, Mwitika, Kikuu, Kyamatu, Muthungue, Ndundune, Maskalini, Matundu, and adjacent areas.
