Police in Kiambu County have arrested four suspects linked to a violent robbery incident, recovering a firearm and a motorcycle believed to have been used in the crime.

In a statement on Tuesday, July 15, the National Police Service (NPS) said the arrests were made during an operation at Nexus Club in Gatuanyaga on Monday night, July 14.

"On 14 July 2025, police officers from Gatuanyaga Police Post, acting on intelligence provided by members of the public, conducted a successful operation at Nexus Club in Gatuanyaga," the statement read.

The suspects are believed to have been involved in a robbery with violence case reported on Friday, July 11.

According to NPS, the operation not only led to their arrest but also the seizure of crucial evidence, including a firearm.

"The raid led to the arrest of four suspects linked to a robbery with violence case reported on 11 July 2025. Their arrest also resulted in the recovery of a Browning pistol and a blue Ranger motorcycle, both believed to have been used in the commission of the crime," the statement added.

The suspects are currently being held in police custody ahead of their arraignment in court.

In a separate incident, police have arrested a suspect linked to a burglary incident at the Fidenza School of Nursing in Kyeni, Embu County, on Monday night.

"On the night of 14 July 2025, unknown intruders broke into the compound of Fidenza School of Nursing in Kyeni, Embu East Sub-County, vandalised the students’ canteen, and stole assorted shop items," NPS said.

According to the agency, officers from Runyenjes Police Station launched a community-supported, intelligence-led operation that led to the arrest of one suspect.

"Upon receiving the report, Police officers from Runyenjes Police Station immediately attended the scene and commenced investigations. With the assistance from the community and through intelligence-led operations, the officers successfully traced and arrested one suspect," the statement added.

The suspect later took police to his residence, where the stolen items, including an electric water pump, were recovered.

"The suspect led officers to his residence, where all the stolen items, including the electric water pump, were recovered. He was subsequently taken to Runyenjes Police Station for further action," the statement concluded.
