Kenya Power has announced scheduled power outages in eight counties on Thursday, July 17, as part of ongoing maintenance works.
In a notice issued on Wednesday, July 16, the company said the planned maintenance will take place in parts of Uasin Gishu, Kisumu, Siaya, Migori, Nyeri, Tharaka Nithi, Kiambu, and Mombasa counties.
In Uasin Gishu County, power will be interrupted in Burnt Forest and Kitingia from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The affected areas include Kitingia, Cherus, Ndungulu, Kaptega, Kapsundei, Sengalo, Chereber, Kapchorwa, Ndanai, Ngarua, Kondoo, Kapkeno, Languse, Kaptega Cheboror and nearby customers.
In Belekenya, power will also be off during the same hours, affecting Belekenya and surrounding areas.

In Kisumu County, Katito will be affected between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., including Kashelach, Kimbimbir, and adjacent areas.
Milimani will experience outages during the same time, affecting areas such as Mega City, Sewage Oxidation Plant, Gater Automation, and Lions Total Energies.
In Muhoroni, the interruption will last from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., with affected locations including Agrochemical Industry, Muhoroni town, Homaline Market, Awasi, Tamu, Chemili, and nearby customers.
In Siaya County, Rabongo and Umala Market will experience power cuts from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Affected places include Rabango Market, Mur Malanga Dairy, Umala Market, Ulafu School, and surrounding areas.
Migori County will also be affected, with Nyakweri and Wath Ong’er scheduled for power interruptions from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The outage will affect Nyakweri Centre, Nyakwere Rice Millers, Wath Ong’er Centre, Wangelongo Market, Lwanda Magwar Center, Ndhiwa Girls & Secondary School, Diruma Dispensary, Agenga Village, and adjacent customers.
In Nyeri County, areas around Milimani and Karicheni will face power outages from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Affected places include Milimani Primary School, Milimani Estate, Chaka Mastore, Kirinyaga Construction, Roben Aberdare Crusher, Kieni Technical, Lusoi Resort, and neighboring areas.
In Tharaka Nithi County, Chogoria and Kirurumwe will be affected from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The scheduled maintenance will impact Chogoria Market, Chogoria Hospital, Kamara, Meru Dairy Kirurumwe, Neo, and nearby customers.
In Kiambu County, a large section of Thika’s industrial area will be without power from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The outage will affect areas including Bidco, YMCA, Broadways, BAT, Thika Technical, Mt. Kenya University, General Kago Morgue, Mundia Estate, Kenol Petrol Station, Toyota Kenya, Medisel, Dune Packaging, Mjengo Ltd, Munene Industries, Bhucho, Nampark, Kenya Paper Sintel, Mama Millers, Slaughter, and Vine Park, among others.
In Mombasa County, parts of Shanzu will experience a power outage from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The affected areas include Shanzu Garden Estate, Shanzu Water, Bamburi Airstrip, Shanzu Bush, Jolarabi, Zawadi Apartments, Braeburn School, JCC, Bamburi Staff Quarters, Enduro, Pollmans, Haller Park, Nyali Center, Shiva Traders and KRA School & Estate.
NITA, Palm Garden Estate, Nyali Shree Enclave Estate, Sunset Paradise, Bohora Apartments, Bella Plaza, Bombolulu Estate, Kwa Bullo Estate, Mwatamba Police Station, Mwembeni Stage, Vescon 1 & 2, Baraka Estate, and adjacent customers will also be affected.
