Kenya Power has announced scheduled power outages in multiple parts of the country on Tuesday, July 22, as part of maintenance works.
In a statement on Monday, July 21, the company listed 10 counties that will be affected, including Nairobi, Kisumu, Kakamega and Kisii.
Homa Bay, Migori, Nyeri, Kiambu, Kitui and Mombasa will also be affected by the interruptions that will last up to eight hours in most areas.
In Nairobi County, two major areas will be affected including Ngong Road and Ayany, where a power outage is scheduled from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
This will impact Miotoni Road, Lenana School, Ngando, Racecourse, Jockey Club, Jamuhuri Park, Rowland Camp, Dagoretti Corner, Ayany, Showground, National Bee Keeping, Santack Estate, Gikuyu Close, and surrounding areas.

The second area is Makanga off Kangundo Road, where electricity will be interrupted from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, affecting Makanga, Kwa Misumari, Mwalimu Farm, and nearby customers.
In Kisumu County, the outage will affect Migosi and Kisumu Show Ground areas between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM.
The disruption will extend to Ogango Market, Migosi Hospital, Gudka Estate, Kenya Re Estate, and the surrounding community.
Kakamega County will also see disruptions, particularly in the Kakamega and Shinyalu areas.
The scheduled outage from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM will impact Amalemba, Shitaho, Kakamega Airstrip, Muranda, Shinyalu Market, Virembe, Rondo Retreat, Vikoshe, Shamakubu, and adjacent areas.
In Kisii County, the affected regions include Kegati, Nyankoo, and Kiogoro, where electricity supply will be interrupted from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Places affected include Kegati Market, Nyankoo, Kiogoro Market, Itume, Rianyamwamu Tea, Itumbe Tea, Itibo, Nyansongo, and surrounding areas.
Homa Bay County will experience power outages in parts of Ndhiwa, including Kalamindi, Ratanga, Aora Chuodho, Konyango Rabour, Apuoche, Sibuoche, Ratil, Mikumi Hills, Kodida, Nyamos, Ojode Nyasosendi, Nyamogo, Kiasa, and Nyarongi SDA.
In Migori County, residents in Nyarongi will be affected by the planned outage between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
The impacted locations include Bansi, Kombato, Nyamage, and the surrounding neighborhoods.
Nyeri County will experience outages in two main areas.
The first is Mahiga, Gitugi, and Mathenge Technical, where power will be off from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
This includes Mahiga Girls, Ndunyu Market, Gitugi Market, Hubuini Market, Mathenge Technical, Mahiga Coffee Factory, Gura, Kihome Market, Gathuthi, Ndugamano, Mukarara, Dr. Kamundia Girls, Prof. Wangari Maathai, Githerere Market, and nearby areas.
The second area is Naromoru Girls and Mbogoini, including Naromoru Girls, Bagdad Market, Meere, and adjacent communities, which will also be affected from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
In Kiambu County, the areas impacted will include part of Rironi, Tilisi, and Ngecha, where outages are expected between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
This includes Kiroe, Ngecha, Mahinga, KBC Rironi, Tilisi, Nduma, Mirithu, Swatch, Luquman Petrol Station, and nearby customers.
Kitui County will see planned maintenance in Tseikuru Market and Wikithuki Irrigation Scheme from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Locations affected include Kakoongo, Kora, Mivukoni, Tseikuru, Kaningo, Usueni, Kamisiliu, Mikauni, Wikithuki, Mamamalia, Kaivairya, Masyungwa Market, Ivonangya, and adjacent areas.
In Mombasa County, three areas will be affected, including Ganjoni, where power will be cut from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
This includes Sacred Heart School, Three Coins, CMC, Ganjoni Hospital, Toyota Kenya, AutoXpress, Mombasa Port Sacco, Cannon Towers, and neighboring areas.
The second area is Shelly Beach Road, also from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, covering Cooperative Bank, KPLC Office Likoni, Lakers, Senti Kumi, Shelly Beach, Kwetu Beach, Pungu Villasa, Maji Safi, Casaurina, Jet Bar, Likoni Shelly Beach Police, Sharks, Furaha Gardens, Dudus, Maluda, Brazil, Swabrina, Ijara Office, Musthalifa, and nearby locations.
The third area is Miritini, which includes Miritini Estate, Doshi Miritini Maganda, Bonje, and surrounding neighborhoods, all of which will experience outages during the same time period.
