"In my ranking, removing Ruto from office is higher even than getting a second terminal at JKIA."

Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Secretary General Edwin Sifuna now says removing President William Ruto from office is a national priority agenda.

Speaking on Tuesday, July 22, Sifuna said the Ruto administration has failed to respect the constitution and human rights.

The Nairobi Senator branded the current government as the worst possible government the country could have envisaged.

“I hear Ruto has succeeded in bullying the people in opposition. He says they don’t have any agenda. I want William Ruto to know that his removal from office is a national priority agenda; it is the only agenda because his government is totally opposed to what the Constitution stands for,” said Sifuna.

He urged the opposition not to bow to pressure from President Ruto to change their agenda ahead of the 2027 elections.

“I want these people to be bold. Don’t be bullied. He wants to push you into a corner where you are discussing markets and roads. In my ranking, removing Ruto from office is higher even than getting a second terminal at JKIA,” the ODM SG stated.

At the same time, Sifuna sensationally declared the 10-point Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between ODM and UDA as dead.

The Nairobi Senator said the death of Albert Ojwang in police custody marked the collapse of the agreement between the two parties.

Sifuna revealed that there was a proposal to form a team to review the implementation of the MoU, but he declined to participate in it.

“Recently, we had a meeting, and there was a proposal to have a team review the implementation of the MOU between UDA and ODM. I have asked respectfully to be left out of that team because I already declared this MOU dead.

"On the day that Albert Ojwang dies in a police cell, to me this agreement is dead,” said Sifuna.
