Former Chief Justice David Maraga has announced plans to roll out a new digital feedback system that aims to directly involve Kenyans in policy formation.
In a statement on Wednesday, July 23, Maraga said that the platform is not just a tool for gathering opinions, but infrastructure designed to make governance more inclusive.
"We're working on a system to collect and collate feedback on key items in our manifesto, so that this becomes a vision that we don't just buy into, but one that we craft together: a vision that evolves to address the growing needs of a diverse and dynamic society.
"So you see, this is truly your journey, and the digital platforms we are rolling out will be bold infrastructure inspired by this young and courageous generation. Our campaign reminds me that the Kenyan spirit is well and truly alive, and I am deeply honoured to share this part of it with all of you," he said.
While calling for patience from the public, Maraga noted that his team is working around the clock to strengthen the digital platforms.

"Our technical team continues to strengthen our digital platform's capacity and security. This will include the public ticker on all digital fundraising platforms. We ask that you please be patient with us as we get this running strong.
"As those in the digital technology practice will understand, this may sometimes require downtime for brief maintenance periods," he added.
Maraga added that the handling of data, time, and input would be done with the utmost care, and that those signing up to help would soon be given clear roles to play.
"My commitment to you, as best as humanly possible, guided by integrity and constitutional fidelity, is that of complete transparency, accountability, and in the responsible handling of your resources, data, time and effort.
"For those who have and continue to sign up as volunteers, we shall soon be in touch with a comprehensive structure that allows for all your talents and abilities to contribute to building the future of your most courageous dreams," he further said.
This comes a day after Maraga revealed that he has raised more than Ksh500,000 through his website in two days.
Speaking on Monday, July 21, the former CJ said Kenyans living in the diaspora have also contributed to his campaign kitty.
“We have set up a website, and within two days in Kenya, we have received more than Ksh500,000. Those in the diaspora have also contributed in dollars. That tells you that Kenyans want change,” he said.
On Tuesday, July 16, Maraga disclosed that he will rely on contributions from Kenyans to fund his 2027 presidential campaign.
The former CJ noted that the funds are a clear sign that Kenyans are backing him ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Maraga expressed confidence that Kenyans will contribute to his campaign kitty.
“We will require a substantial amount of money. We are going to appeal to Kenyans to contribute to our campaign, and it is going to succeed. Kenyans will themselves fund this election,” he noted.
