Kenya Power has announced scheduled power interruptions set to affect parts of Nairobi and nine other counties on Thursday, July 24.

In a statement on Wednesday, July 23, the company said the interruptions are part of system maintenance and upgrades.

In the Nairobi region, residents along Dagoretti Road and surrounding areas will experience a power outage from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. 

The affected locations include Dagoretti Road, Warai North and South, Three D Lane, Miotoni, World Vision, Nandi Road, Montessori Centre, Windy Ridge, Pepo Lane, Link Road, Mdodo Lane, St. Christopher International School and adjacent customers.

In Vihiga County, areas of Vihiga and Serem will be affected between 9:00 AM and 5:30 PM. 

The power outage will impact Serem Market, Kapsotik Police Station, Mungavo, Elusui, Goibe Secondary School, Banja Market, Bombo Water, Kaimosi TTC, Turaco, Jeviriri and nearby areas.

In Kisii County, power will be cut between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM in the areas of Gesonso, Suneka, and Riana. 

Affected locations include Gesonso Market, Gesonso Police Station, Riamasagra, Suneka Market, Suneka Police Station, Nyangoge Girls, Governor Arati’s Home, Itibo Hotel, Ekerorano, Riana Dispensary, Nyamira Ndogo Centre and adjacent customers.

In Homa Bay County, parts of Homa Bay Town will have no electricity from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. 

The outage will affect Sofia Estate, Raila Odinga Stadium, Homa Bay Secondary School, Homa Bay Referral Hospital, Medical Training College, Tom Mboya University and Milimani Estate.

The County Assembly, Judiciary, County Offices, Tourist Hotel, Shivling Supermarket, KCB, Cooperative Bank, ABS Bank, Cold Spring, State Lodge and surrounding areas will also be affected.

In Migori County, the area of Nyatuoro will experience a blackout from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. This includes Nyatuoro Center, nearby schools and adjacent customers.

In Nyeri County, power will be off from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM in the areas of Ark Lodge and Amboni. 

The affected locations include Ark Lodge, Bondeni, Kiguru Primary, Amboni Market, Amboni Secondary, Ruiru, Murungaru Residence and surrounding areas.

In Tharaka Nithi County, areas of Chogoria and Kirurumwe will experience power interruptions from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. 

Affected customers include those in Chogoria Market, Chogoria Hospital, Kamara, Meru Dairy Kirurumwe, Neo and nearby areas.

In Kiambu County, power will be off in Juja Town and along Kenyatta Road from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. 

The areas affected include New Wood Estate, Kalimoni Secondary, Kalimoni Hospital, Juja Modern Hospital, Star of Hope Estate, Kwa Woria, Bristar Girls School, Theta Hotel, Faith Estate, Gate C and St. Peters School.

Parts of Gachororo, Juja Police Station, Elmark Estate, Juja Main Stage, Green Field Estate, Juja Sewage, Juja South, Kanini Farm Estate, Kenyatta Road, Turaco Village, Superhighway Estate and adjacent customers will also be affected.

Also in Kiambu, areas of Banana and Muchatha will face outages from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

These include Banana, Muchatha Shopping Centre, Banana Fire Station, Shell Banana, Clifftop, Guango, Mungoiya, Gathanga, Mayuyu and surrounding customers.

In Mombasa County, State House Mombasa and the Mombasa Law Courts will be affected by a power cut from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. 

Similarly, the Shanzu area will be without power during the same time. The affected locations include Royal Shaza, Pride Inn Flamingo, Kilua, Sunset Paradise, Mama Ngina Girls Secondary, Shimo la Tewa High School, Shimo la Tewa Prison and surrounding areas.

In Taita Taveta County, Maungu and Mwasinyi will have no power supply from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. 

The outage will affect the whole of Maungu, Itinyi, Kisimenyi, Bungule, Kiteghe, Kasigau, Jora, Makwasinyi and adjacent locations.
