KUCCPS has raised alarm over an increased number of fake online platforms.

Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has raised alarm over an increased number of fake online platforms impersonating the institution.

In a statement released on Monday, July 28, KUCCPS cautioned the public against engaging with a Facebook page fraudulently using the agency’s identity to mislead unsuspecting users.

“KUCCPS wishes to distance itself from a Facebook Page going by the name ‘Kuccps News’ that is impersonating the institution,” the statement reads in part.

The agency further warned that it would not take responsibility for any information or transactions carried out via such unofficial pages.

“Theft and misuse of KUCCPS’ identity on online and social media platforms is a matter of concern,” the statement added. “Anyone engaging with the Facebook Page and similar social media pages or the persons operating them is doing so at their own risk.”

KUCCPS also encouraged any victims to report the matter to police authorities, advocating for careful and responsible consumption of online content.

“The acronym "KUCCPS" is a core component of the identity and intellectual property of the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service. Its unauthorized use is not just deceptive to the public but also constitutes a violation of the law,” the statement affirmed.

KUCCPS went on to list its verified online platforms to guide the public on where to find credible information. These include their website www.kuccps.ac.ke, Facebook page at Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service, Instagram @official_kuccps, Twitter/X @KUCCPS_Official, and Telegram @KUCCPSChannel.

Students and guardians have been urged to remain vigilant during this critical placement period to avoid becoming victims of scammers.
