Kenya Power has announced scheduled power interruptions in parts of 5 counties on Friday, August 1.

In a statement on Thursday, July 31, the company said the outages, expected to last between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., are part of planned maintenance works.

In Makueni County, the Emali to Nziu area will experience power outages from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Affected areas include Mulala, Kithumani, Masokani, Kikumini, Masumba, Welfare, Matiiku, Kilili, Kalamba, Katulye, Upendo, Nziu, and adjacent customers.

In Nandi County, the Kapkorio area will be without electricity from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Affected locations include Kapkorio and adjacent customers.

In Kakamega County, two major areas will experience power interruptions from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The Bushiangala and Shikhumi region will be affected. Affected areas include Malimya Market, Ivono Village, Ichina, Isulu, Busianala, Shikumi, Musoli, Shikuruya, Mwikalikha, Ikhongocho, Emabole, and adjacent customers.

The Butere area will also experience outages during the same hours. Affected locations include Butere Market, Butere Girls, Eshishembu, Bubala, Shiatsala, Eshikulu, Mabole, Mahondo, and adjacent customers.

In Kilifi County, the Ndonya and Mtepeni areas will be affected from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Areas to be impacted include KALRO Mtwapa, Peacock Hotel, Mawenzi Resort, Animo, Kipepeo, Ndonya Police, Ndonya Village, Migingo, Chaurembo, Fantasy Farm, Mbewau, Sadaka, Masisters, Fulgency Wanje, Tunzanani, Chengoni Primary, Makruhu, Mtepeni Primary, Maji Asili, Ndovu Tanks, Kwa Tuva, Kizingitini, and adjacent customers.

In Nyeri County, the Ithenguri and Kigwandi areas will experience power cuts from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Affected areas include Kahigaini, parts of Kiunyu, Chief's Area, Karurumo, Ithenguri, and adjacent customers.
