Footage seen by Nairobileo.co.ke shows the crash site engulfed in flames, with thick plumes of smoke rising into the sky.

The fire reportedly spread to nearby houses, prompting chaotic scenes as residents scrambled to rescue those possibly trapped inside. 

Eyewitnesses reported hearing screams from individuals inside the affected buildings, as locals rushed to assist with rescue efforts.

Desperate calls for fire engines and water tankers were made as community members attempted to douse the flames using makeshift tools.

Military officers and police were spotted at the scene in the footage circulating on social media. 

Githurai 45 Sub-County Police Commander Maurice Odanga confirmed the incident, though no casualties or fatalities had been officially reported by the time of publishing.

Authorities have deployed emergency response teams to the scene, including firefighters and paramedics, as investigations begin to establish the cause of the crash and assess the full impact.

Firefighters from Ruiru have managed to extinguish the fire.

Police have sealed off the area and are managing the increasing number of onlookers, with emergency and security teams present on the ground.
