At KBC Kiswahili Service, Omuga expanded his audience and became one of the household names at the time.
He rose to prominence alongside renowned broadcasters such as Leonard Mambo Mbotela.
In a past interview, Omuga recalled making his radio debut when he was assigned to announce the death of an individual.
Moments later, the family of the individual arrived at the studio to inform him that the person he reported dead was still alive.
