A spot on Thika Super Highway turned chaotic on late Saturday evening, August 16, after a group of Boda Boda riders torched a vehicle.
Eyewitnesses narrated that a Land Rover breakdown being driven on the wrong lane crashed into three boda boda riders at the Survey area near KCA University.
The breakdown had been called by the police who wanted to tow a bus involved in a minor accident when it rammed into the riders while joining the main highway from a feeder road.
According to the eyewitnesses, two riders were killed on the spot, and one critically injured and was rushed to the hospital.
The occupants of the break down then took off from the scene, leaving the vehicle at the hands of the riders who had gathered at the scene.

Police showed up at the scene and took control of the situation.
"There was a bus detained by traffic police. They summoned a break down which joined the highway using the exit lane. The vehicle met with three riders and crashed them, killing two on the spot and injuring one. The occupants of the breakdown disembarked and took off from the scene," one of the riders said.
The officers launched teargas to disperse the crowd that was getting out of hand.
The incident came days after another on Nairobi's busy Jogoo Road.
On August 7, a group of riders torched a passenger bus belonging to City Shuttle after it reportedly knocked down and killed a rider.
The rider on the spot, prompting his angry colleagues to react violently.
No passenger or crew was inside the bus when it was consumed in flames.
The incident caused a snarlup on the road, with police later showing up to control things.
