Kenya Power has announced planned power interruptions on Monday, August 18, affecting parts of Nairobi, Kericho, Kisii, Nyeri, and Laikipia counties.
In a statement on Sunday, August 17, the company said the outages are necessary to facilitate routine maintenance on the power network.
In Nairobi County, power will go off in parts of Kitsuru from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The affected areas are Kinanda Road, ISK, Kirawa Road, Manga Garden, Kitsuru Forward, Tate Close, Serenity Spa, Mitini Estate, Ngecha Estate, Lake View Estate, and adjacent customers.
In Kericho County, parts of Ngoinaroad Market will be affected between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

In Kisii County, a wide outage will run from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., affecting Gesonso Market, Gesonso Police Station, Riamasagra, Iterio Complex, Suneka Market, Itibo Hotel, Ekerorano, Riana, Riamotinga, Nyamira Ndogo, Nyangoge Girls, Itibo Market, Igonga High School, Water Park Hotel and Gesero.
Mogumo, Raganga Catholic, Nyabururu Complex, Nyamataro, Ajiwa Quarry, Nyando, Ruga Quarry, Sombogo Tea Factory, Rioma Police, Gesabakwa Nyamatuta, Geteri Nyakoe, Cardinal Otunga, Mosocho, Ruga, Matieko, Egesa, Nyatieko, Kegogi, Manga Isecha, Jogoo Market and Kisii Polytechnic will also be affected.

Nyamasibi Secondary, Nyaturago Secondary, Nyamogesa Secondary, Masimba Market, Gulf Petrol Station, Keumbu Market, Riondonga Market, Nyabisabo Market, Kiamokama Market, Ibacho, Gesusu, Nyacheki, Ramasha, Nyamache Tea Factory, Igare, Nyamagwa Complex, and adjacent customers will also be affected.
In Nyeri County, the planned outage will run from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in Muthuaini, Gitero, and Karia. Areas affected include Kwa Tailor, Waheire, Karia, Gitero, Muthuaini, Kagwathi, Tetu TVC, Muthuaini Coffee Factory, Kiandere Market, and adjacent customers.
In Laikipia County, power will be interrupted from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in Burguret and Guara.
The outage will affect Nanyuki Airstrip, Anka Resort, Tambuzi Farm, Trout Tree Hotel, Aberdare Prestige Cottages, Tropical Timber, and adjacent customers.
