The outages will affect parts of Nairobi, Elgeyo Marakwet, Kisumu, Vihiga, and Busia counties.

Kenya Power has announced planned power interruptions in several parts of the country on Wednesday, August 27, to facilitate routine maintenance works.

In a statement on Tuesday, August 26, the company said the outages will affect parts of Nairobi, Elgeyo Marakwet, Kisumu, Vihiga, and Busia counties.

In Nairobi, the outage will affect parts of Ruaraka from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 

Areas listed include NYS Headquarters, Utalii Village, St. Benedicts Catholic Church, Survey of Kenya, KISM, NIS, sections of GSU Headquarters, La Mada Hotel, Muthaiga Dawns, Pipeline Estate, and adjacent customers. 

The same duration will apply in Umoja 3, where the outage will impact Part of Umoja Three, Coca-Cola Factory, Super Loaf, Double M, Ka-mongo Wastepaper, and surrounding areas.

In Elgeyo Marakwet County, residents of Uswo Village and nearby areas will be without electricity from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

In Kisumu County, the outage will cover Chemelil Factory and Potopoto areas from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 

Areas to be affected include Kowawa Center, Chemelil Roundabout, Songhor Center, Mombwo Girls, Achego Chemelil Factory, Kopere Simba Farm, and Potopoto center.

In Vihiga County, the blackout will run from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., affecting Broadpark Hotel, parts of Mbale Town, Chavakali, and neighboring areas.

Busia County will also experience a scheduled outage, with power interruptions expected in Nangoma, Nambomboto, Busulele, Buloma, Nahasiko, Buingi, Mulwanda, and adjacent customers between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
