Kenya Power has announced scheduled power interruptions affecting parts of Nairobi, Kiambu, Mombasa, and Kilifi counties on Sunday, October 12.
In a notice on Saturday, October 11, the company said the planned outages are part of routine maintenance works.
According to the notice, the maintenance exercise will affect customers in Nairobi County, specifically around JKIA Airport, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The affected customers include, Mitchell Cotts Group, Swissport Kenya, Transglobal Cargo Center, Freight Complex, Kenya Bureau of Standards – JKIA, Forodha House JKIA, Air Connections Ltd, DHL Global Forwarding, Kenya Airports Authority (KAA), Four Points Hotel and Global Freight Logistics.
Crowne Plaza Nairobi, Kuehne + Nagel Ltd, Air Flo, LSG Sky Chefs, Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA), NAS, Acceler, Siginon Freight Holdings, Vegpro, DB Schenker, AFA-HCD, Barabara Plaza, Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) Headquarters, and adjacent customers will also be affected

In the North Eastern Region, power will also be interrupted in parts of Kiambu County, particularly Juja Town and JKUAT, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Areas to be affected include Mungetho, Mirimaini, Kiaora Farm, Nchengo Farm, Mtaro Farm, Kariki Farm, Bob Harries, Kijito, Mashule Estate, Karakuta Estate, Gachibi Farm, Kwa Ndumbe, Kirai, Mutuma Market, Gitatuiiya, Mangu, St. Francis Girls, Kairi and Kagabwa.
Other affected areas are Gatukuyu Market, Kawira, Diana Farm, Kihenia Farm, Kigio Market, Oriti Farm, Maryhill Girls, Eagadds, Farm Brister Girls, Gachororo, Juja Preparatory, Newwood Estate, Silvercoin, St. Peter School, Kenyatta Road, Juja Industrial, Mukinyi Road, and adjacent customers.
In the Coast Region, residents of Mombasa County will experience power outages affecting the whole of Shanzu and Bamburi areas from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
The areas include Whole of Shanzu, Bamburi Special Products, Bamburi Staff Quarters, Serena, Dolphine, Flamingo, Kilua, Shaza, Shimo la Tewa Primary & Secondary, Sunset Paradise, Pride Inn Paradise, Shanzu Garden Estate and Shanzu Water.
Bamburi Airstrip, Shanzu Bush, Jolarabi, Zawadi Apartments, Braeburn School, Shanzu Beach Homes, Shanzu Law Courts, Shanzu TTC, Mamangina, Ocean View, Whitesands, Severine, Plaza Beach, Kero Port, Utange Village, Bamburi Beach and Pirates will also be affected.
Other affected areas are Travelers, Ocean View, Bamburi, Fisheries, Vescon 1 & 2, Lakeview, Bashir Mosque, Ajanta Estate, Mishomoroni, Anwar Alli, Matingasi, Naivas Bamburi, Nyali Plaza, CTM, Millele, Jumeirah, Baobab, Kingston, 1st to 4th Avenues Nyali, Malindi Road, KRA, NITA and Links Garden Estate.
Additionally, Nyali Shree Links Estate, Bohora Apartments, Bella Plaza, Bombolulu Estate, Kwa Bullo Estate, Mwatamba Police Station, Mwembeni Stage, JCC, Majaoni, Utange, Kiembeni Blue & Green Estates, Ugatuzi, Kajiweni, Junda, Kashani, Bamburi Mwisho, Mialeo, Mtopanga, and adjacent customers will also be affected.
In Kilifi County, the outage will affect the whole of Vipingo, Kanamai, and Kikambala areas from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
The affected customers include Marina, Ndodo, Whole of Mtwapa Town, Jambo Travellers, Furaha Academy, Maweni, Screenshot, Bahari Parents, Jumba Ruins, Greenwood, KMA, Coca-Cola Bottlers, Ashut Plastics, Mombasa Apparel, Milly Fruits, Mzuri Sweets, Umoja Rubber Ltd, Ogalis and Mwalimu Omar.
Northcoast Medical College, Bomani kwa Kanyi, Khosla Farm, Pentagon, UB40, Bomani Dispensary, Kikambala Housing, Bomani 3 Stars, Bionoo, Mamba, Bomani Manase, Bomani Palepale, Junju Secondary, Junju Village, Mwembetsungu, parts of Mwatundo and Tropical Sea Life will also be affected.
Other affected areas are Coast Apparel, Petrocity Sokoni, Mtwapa Market, Rise & Shine, Kwa Radar, Rubis Mtwapa, Ndonya, Nyati, Ngoloko, Sea Gas, Mwananchi Bakery, Msumari, Merejini, Vipingo Sisal, Vipingo Beach, Kuruwitu, Kuruwitu Beach, Sun N Sand Beach Hotel, Fairdeal Park, Kikambala Catholic and Swati Investments.
Umbrella Steel, Blue Sky, Kilifi Pearl, Kirkland, Miembe Saba, Muudzini School, Bodoi Stage, Bodoi kwa Ng’ombe, Bodoi Primary, Salwa Kenya, Bodoi Village, Northcoast Beach Hotel, Kanamai Timboni, Mwendo wa Panya, Salama Beach, Gurdum Villah, Safi Saana Ltd, Barani Primary, Barani Four Farm, Barani Timboni, Mtwapa Gardens, Kwa Mutua and Kwa Kariuki will aso be without power.
Toto Dogo, Bilady, Mtwapa Primary, Baharini Primary, Kadzengo, Kitchen King, Afri Wear, Total Amkeni, Vipingo Filling Station, Madina, Pride Industries, Safe Pack, Revital EPZ, Tiger Packaging, Vipingo Industries, Jallaram Plastics, Egol Petrol Station, Shariani Town, Vipingo Ridge, Mombasa Cement and parts of Vipingo will also be affected.
Other areas set to experience the outage include Rhino Mtwapa, Moorings, Club Garden, Mtwapa Sub-County Hospital, Funyula, Mikanjuni, Golden Key, Westgate, Aloo Drive, Creek, Mzambarauni, Mtepeni, Tunzanani, Chengoni, Chonyi, Dzizoni, Jaribuni Quarries, Mavueni, and adjacent customers.
