Harambee Stars player Boniface Muchiri promoted in KDF.

“We are very grateful for your commitment, hard work and excellent performance while serving Kenya and, by extension, the KDF. We wish you success in future assignments and are confident you will continue to excel,” CDF Kahariri stated.

This comes days after Harambee Stars Captain Abud Omar appealed to President William Ruto to approve Muchiri’s promotion in the KDF.

Born in Nambale, Busia County, Muchiri developed a passion for football at St Mary’s Kibabii Boys High School.

After completing form four, Muchiri joined Nzoia Sugar before moving to Sony Sugar FC and later Tusker FC.

In 2020, Muchiri had a six-month stint at Los Angeles Force in the USA’s National Independent Soccer Association. Muchiri then returned to the country and joined Ulinzi Stars.

He is among the Harambee Stars players selected for the upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Gambia and Seychelles.
