Morocco will be taking on Madagascar in the CHAN 2024 finals at Kasarani Stadium.

The 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) football tournament, taking place at Nairobi's Kasarani Stadium, is set to capture the world's attention with the presence of FIFA President Gianni Infantino. 

Morocco will be taking on Madagascar in the finals later Saturday.

The Swiss-Italian national landed in Kenya on Saturday morning, August 30.

To receive him were the top brass members of the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) led by President Hussein Mohammed.

"On behalf of the Kenyan football family, I warmly welcome FIFA President Gianni Infantino to Kenya for the first time, as we gear up for the #CHAN2024 final. Kenya has captured the hearts of the world with our successful hosting of this tournament - today we celebrate that achievement together," the FKF president said in an X statement.

Infantino's presence at the final will raise the profile of the tournament organised and managed by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

CHAN brings talents from soccer players undertaking their football professions in their local leagues.

Infantino has been at the helm of the global soccer administrator from 2016, having taken over from Sepp Blatter, another Swiss national who led FIFA for 17 years between 1998 and 2015.

The 2018 and 2022 World Cup tournaments have happened under the reign of Infantino.

Also expected at the CHAN 2024 finals is CAF president Patrice Motsepe.

The Morocco vs Madagascar display will bring to an end the eventful tournament that began on August 2.

It was jointly hosted by Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda.

All the host countries were knocked out of the sport in the quarter final stage, with Kenya's Harambee Stars being the first team to quit the tournment.

Kenya had edged over its competition in the group stages and was eyeing the semis and final stages before Madagascar spoilt the party.

The islanders edged out Kenya in a penalty shootout after a 1-1 draw in the regular and extra times.

Madagascar would later win against Sudan to secure their spot in the finals.

On the other hand, Morocco edged over Tanzania in the quarter finals, and later won against Senegal in through penalty shootouts to make it to the finals.

Senegal, which had edged over Uganda in the semis, was consoled with the bronze medal after winning the third place following their win against Sudan on Friday, August 29.
