Kenya Power has announced scheduled power interruptions across several parts of the country on Sunday, September 14.
In a statement on Saturday, September 13, the company said the outages will affect Nairobi, Machakos, Kisumu, Vihiga, Kiambu, and Kilifi counties.
In Nairobi, the blackout will affect the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) area from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Areas to be impacted include Mitchell Cotts Group, Swissport Kenya, Transglobal Cargo Centre, Freight Complex, Kenya Bureau of Standards JKIA, Forodha House JKIA and Air Connections Ltd.
Others are DHL Global Forwarding, Kenya Airports Authority, Four Points Hotel, Global Freight Logistics, Crowne Plaza Nairobi, Kunhne+ Nagel Ltd and Air Flo.

LSG Sky Chefs, Kenya Civil Aviation Authority, NAS, Acceler, Siginon Freight Holdings, Vegro, DB Schenker, AFA-HCD, and Barabara Plaza KENHA Headquarters will also be affected.
The same duration will also see parts of Parklands affected, including 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th Parklands, Jalam Road, Mwanzi Road, Ring Road, Kusi Lane, Ngao Road, Doctors Park, Acculaser Clinic, Day Light Apartments, Oval Building, King Fisher, City Park Estate, City Park Market, and nearby customers.
In Machakos County, areas around Mombasa Road will be off power between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
The affected customers include Doshi, Nation Printers, Scania, Gateway Mall, Hilton Garden, Mastermind, Eens Business Park, Quiver and adjacent areas.
Kisumu County will experience two outages. In Kisumu Town, power will be cut from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with Okore Estate, Obunga, Migosi, Lolwe, Uzima University, Kanyamedha and nearby customers affected.
In Miwani, the outage will run from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. affecting Keda, Miwani Market, Karebe, Chemase, Kigori Market, Maboyi, and Chebsweta.
In Vihiga County, the blackout will cover Waluba, Mahanga, and Ebwali from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Areas to be affected include Waluka, Stage Matope, Ebwali, Esongolo, Mwitokho, Fisheries, Mahanga, Itabalia, Kisienya, and adjacent customers.
Kiambu County will also be hit by power interruptions in Albizzia, Witeithie, and Tola areas between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
The affected customers include Kilimambogo Millers, Behind TIBS, White Sisters, Ukombozi Center, Kibute, Ngoingwa Classic, Family Gardens, PCEA, Kisiwa, Mpesa Foundation, Karibaribi, Kawira, Makwa Boys, Makwa Dispensary, Makwa Market, Magumu and Gakui Shopping Centre.
Gachororo Hospital, St. Paul Catholic Church, Gachororo Secondary, Mungetho Market, High Point, Gachororo Market, Ndarugu Hotel, Gwa Kigwe, Centurion Hotel, Premier Foods, East African Health, and surrounding customers will also be affected.
In Kilifi County, parts of Kanamai will be affected from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Areas listed include Baharini Primary, Baran Kenya Kikamabala, Kadzengo, Kitchen King, My Pasta, Pwani Oil Ltd, Mega Couture, Afriware EPZ, Ndune Fish Farm, Revital EPZ, Tiger Packaging, Vipingo Industries, Vipingo Service Station and Majlis Msumarini.
Other affected areas are Safepak Ltd, Pride Industries, Total Amkeni, Madina Madrassa Center, Jallaram Plastics, Eagol Petrol Station, Awali Estate, Palmridge, Vipingo Golf Stage, Swafaa Academy, Shariani Center, Shariani kwa Pope, Flamboyant Ltd, Fairdeal Park and Tiger Packaging.
Mzuri Sweets 3, Sun N Sand Beach Resort, Swati Investment, Kikamabala Catholic, Kikambala Posta, Saafi Sana, Barani, Timboni, Kwa Kariuki, Rembo Apartments, Bodoi, Bodi Primary, Salwa Ltd, Flamboyant, and surrounding areas will also be affected.
