Gachagua challenged Ruto and his deputy to take their offensive to his Nyeri backyard to prove they are tough.

Former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua has sustained his offensive against President William Ruto and his deputy Kithure Kindiki, accusing them of plotting against the unity of Mt Kenya.

In their tirades against Gachagua, Ruto and his deputy are on record belittling his political shrewdness, referencing his academic qualifications.

Addressing teachers at State House, Nairobi, on Saturday, September 13, Ruto regretted having Gachagua as his deputy because he was less educated.

Gachagua had also blasted Kindiki for using the economic empowerment forums to advance a rhetoric against him.

Speaking in Nyeri, Gachagua regarded himself as Mt Kenya's go-to leader, suggesting that his supporters would not tolerate his detractors unleashing tirades on him.

He challenged the president and his deputy to take their rhetoric to his Nyeri backyard if indeed they are tough politically as they claim.

"I want to tell the president and his deputy to stop sponsoring people to abuse me. If you and your deputy are man enough, come here to Karatina and abuse me from here. They are calling people to the tents and paying them to abuse Mt Kenya leader. If they are tough, let them come here in Karatina and abuse Riggy G," Gachagua fired.

Gachagua has accused Ruto and his deputy of bribing the Mt Kenya electorate to rally behind them.

His sentiments came after Ruto hosted thousands of leaders from Murang'a at State House Nairobi.

Gachagua counselled the Mt Kenya residents to take the monies used to mobilise them to State House but not fall for Ruto's agenda.

The former deputy president is currently leading the mission to unseat Ruto from power.

He accuses the president of running down the country and supervising wanton corruption, among other maladministration issues and state brutality on civilians.

Gachagua belongs to the United Opposition, which brings together principals from other political outfits.

Others in the faction are Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, Martha Karua (PLP), Justin Muturi (DP), Eugene Wamalwa (DAP Kenya) and former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i.

They resolved to shelve their personal ambitions and combine their efforts to unseat Ruto.
