The body of Corporal Kennedy Mutuku Nzuve, who died while serving with the Multinational Security Support Mission in Haiti, was received at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport on Thursday evening, September 26, 2025.
According to a statement issued by Kenya National Police on Saturday September 27, the National Police Service fraternity, under the leadership of the Commandant of the National Police College Embakasi 'A' Campus, Mr. Isaac Alimaa, SAIG, conducted the dignified reception of the fallen officer's body.
Corporal Nzuve's family witnessed the emotional homecoming, with his mother, Mrs. Serah Nzuve, leading the family delegation.

The reception at JKIA brought together top-ranking police officials. Among those present were the Commandant of the Rapid Deployment Unit, Mr. Aggrey Shamala, AIG, and the Director of Medical Services for the Administration Police Service, Madam Lilian Kanini, AIG.
Also in attendance were the Chief of Staff for the Administration Police Service, Mr. Haron Nthiga, AIG, and the National Police Service Spokesperson, Mr. Muchiri Nyaga, AIG.
Following the solemn reception ceremony, Corporal Nzuve's body was transported to Chiromo Mortuary, where it will be preserved as the family and the National Police Service make arrangements for the final send-off.
“The National Police Service conveys its deepest and most heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of the fallen officer and assures them of its unwavering support during this period of profound sorrow,” the statement reads.

The fatal accident occurred on Sunday, August 31, 2025, at approximately 5:00 PM along the treacherous Kenscoff–Pétion-Ville road at Perlerin 9 during what the mission described as a recovery operation.
Corporal Kennedy Mutuku Nzuve was rushed to Lambert Santé Hospital in Pétion-Ville following the crash but was tragically pronounced dead upon arrival.
The accident happened while MSS officers were conducting a complex vehicle recovery operation involving two MaxxPro armored vehicles. During the operation, one vehicle was towing another when mechanical difficulties arose, ultimately leading to the fatal crash that claimed Corporal Nzuve's life and injured several other personnel.
