Kenya Power has announced planned power interruptions set to affect parts of five counties on Monday, September 29.
In a notice on Sunday, September 28, the company said the outages are part of routine power line maintenance.
In Nairobi, the outage will affect Ruaraka and surrounding areas from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The specific locations listed include NYS Headquarters, Utalii Village, St. Benedicts Catholic Church, Survey of Kenya, NSIS Academy, Naivas Thika Road, part of GSU Headquarters, Muthaiga North Estate, Mada Hotel, and adjacent customers.
In Kericho County, under the Central Rift region, Kapkara and its environs will experience an outage from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The interruption will affect Kapkara Primary and adjacent customers.
Kakamega County in the Western region will also face a full-day outage in Malinya Market and Matioli Market areas.
The affected locations include Malinya Market, Akatsa Market, Bukura Market, Bukura College, Matioli Market, and adjacent customers.
In Nyeri County under the Mt. Kenya region, two areas will be affected. Gatitu and Sugar Baker areas will have no power from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Customers listed include Da-Venue Resort, Senior Chief Wambugu Hotel, Sugar Baker, Gatitu Market, Gatitu Police, Meskins Dairies, Kihoro Forest, parts of Kiamuiru, Kagumo Teachers College, Kagumo Crusher, Gatitu PCEA Church, and nearby customers.
Additionally, Ragati Tea Factory and Giakaibei Market areas will be without electricity from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The affected customers include Giakaibei Market, Giakaibei Secondary School, Ndumanu Market, Ndumanu Village, Kanjuri High School, Kanjuri Dispensary, Kanjuri Market, Kihari Village, Kiangengi Village and Kiangengi Primary School.
Giagathege TBC, Kinganga Village, Kiunjugi TBC, Kariambi TBC, Gitimalni Market, Giakagina TBC, Gatei TBC, Ragati Forest Station, Safaricom Boosters, Airtel Boosters, and adjacent customers will also be affected.
In Meru County, several areas including Maua, Kinna, and Garba-Tulla-Benane will also experience outages from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The wide-ranging list of affected areas includes Muthara Market, Muriri Market, Mbaranga Market, Karama Market, Kangeta Market, Maili Tatu, KK, Laare, Mutuati, Kabachi, Antu-Betwe, Meru National Park, Njoune, Kiutine, Igembe, Kiegoi Tea Factories, Maua Town, Maua General Hospital, Kindani, Rhino Camp and Kiengu Bakeries.
Others are Maua Methodist Hospital, Athi, Rumanthi Girls, Mbaraga, Atuanduru Market, Kawiru, Nkoune, Kipkona, Mpinda, Kabuitu, Ncheme, Amwamba, Kawiru, China State Buulu, China State Garbatulla Camp Site, Kinna, Garbatulla, Benane, and adjacent customers.
