  • ODM Party on Tuesday, March 2021 announced the death of one of their branch chairpersons.

ODM Party Chairman for Nakuru County Peter Ole Osono is dead.

The party announced the death of Mzee Osono on Tuesday, March 2021 stating that he was a strong supporter of the party.

"We have lost a gallant soldier in our movement, a fierce defender of our ideology, a true loyalist who stood against any forces that tried to shake ODM in Nakuru County, a man of the people & a natural leader; our Nakuru County Chairman Mzee Peter Ole Osono. Go well Kiongozi," the statement from ODM read.

The cause of his death was not revealed by the time of publishing.


Legal Case

In 2015 Osono was charged with incitement to violence and disobedience of the law as well as shooting at two journalists.

The court heard that the suspect discharged a bullet from a revolver in a move aimed at bringing death or physical injury to journalist Raphael Mungem on the 22nd of May 2015.

Osono was further accused of shooting at Barnabas Asiba on the same day with the intention to kill or injure him.

He allegedly committed the two crimes when journalists were covering demonstrations by Oljorai residents over a piece of land they claimed had been grabbed by the accused.
