Kenya Power has announced scheduled power outages affecting various parts of Nandi, Homa Bay, and Nyeri counties on Friday, July 18.

In a statement on Thursday, July 17, the company said the blackouts are part of routine maintenance.

In Nandi County, Ndapdabwa and adjacent customers will experience an 8-hour power outage beginning at 9:00 a.m.

In Homa Bay County, several locations in and around Homa Bay Town will be without power during the same time frame. 

These include Staridge Hotel, Ambose Hotel, Dalawa Hotel, Tourist Hotel, Shauriyako Estate, Makongeni Estate, Got Rabour, Rangwena and Nyalkinyi.

Got Koketch, God Bondo, Kuoyo Kochia, Olare, Nyangweso, Kadel, Kandiege, Homa Hills and nearby customers will also be affected.

In Nyeri County, multiple areas are set to experience power interruptions. 

Kirichu and Ndurutu areas, including Kang'ong'a, Wangi Water Project, Rosa Academy, and Kanuna, will experience outages from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 

In the Kiandu and Kaiguri region, including Kiandu Market and Schools, Kariko, Nduiga, Gura, Gondo, Safaricom Booster, Gachatha Coffee Factory and Market, Kwa Joseph, Kariguini, and Thandii, the blackout will start an hour earlier at 8:00 a.m. and last until 5:00 p.m. 

The Muti and Ngereria area, which includes Muti Primary and Secondary Schools, Muti and Mukundi Markets, Siranga, and Ngereria Market, will also experience outages from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
