Kenya Power has announced power interruptions in parts of Nyeri, Embu, and Kiambu counties on Monday, October 13.

In a notice on Sunday, October 13, the company said the outages are meant to facilitate maintenance works.

According to the schedule, parts of Nyeri County will be without electricity from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Monday. 

The outage will affect areas around King’ong’o and Kimathi University, including Gamerock, King’ong’o, Mt. Kenya Bottlers, Chania MOW, Garden Estate, King’ong’o Prisons, Highlands, KIE, Hill Farm, Hill Court, Kahawa Ridge, and Dedan Kimathi University.

Sunrise Hostels, Bomas, Kabiru-Ini, Showground and Police Post, Major Seminary, Eunice Academy, Embassy Shopping Centre, Thathua, Golden Gates Hotel, and other adjacent customers will also be affected.

In Embu County, power will be cut off from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in Ishiara and Karurumo areas. 

The maintenance exercise will also affect Kanyombora, Kagaga, Iriri, Karerema, Kabubua, Kanyama, Kamumu, Kadde, Gatatha, Kavegero, Mugwanjogu, Kasafari, Karagare, Intex Crasher, Murari, and neighboring customers.

Meanwhile, in Kiambu County, residents in Mataara and Gacharage Market will also experience power outages between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

The affected areas include Matara Tea Factory, Ngethu Water Works, Upper Camp, Gathugu Village, Gachege Tea Factory, Gituamba Market, Gatunguru Boys, Mataara Dispensary, Miugu Village, Kiriko Mission, Kariminu Water, Kanyoni Market, and Ndiko Market.

Other affected areas are Gakoe Market, Gicheha Farm, Thuraku Village, Karatu Market, Wanugu Village, Kirangi Village, Ituramiro Market, Gacharage Water, Gairi Market, Ndarugu Water, Gaitete Market, Kagunyi Village, Karinga Girls, Igamba Market, and nearby areas.
