At least six people are reported to have died in a road accident on Saturday dawn, October 25.
The road crash happened at a spot in Soysambu, Gilgil, on the Nairobi-Nakuru Highway.
According to sources, the crash happened at around 4 am; It occurred when a Toyota Caldina saloon car rammed into an oncoming truck.
The accident was confirmed by Gilgil Sub-County police commander Winstone Wakio who explained that the car was striving to overtake when the truck was fast-approaching.
The bodies were booked into the Gilgil Sub-County Hospital hospital morgue.

The accident occurred less than a month after another one in the same route.
It was on September 28 when at least 13 people lost their lives and several others sustained injuries following a tragic road accident.
The collision occurred near Kariandusi along the Nakuru-Nairobi Highway, involving a passenger vehicle and a truck.
The 14-seater matatu, which was severely damaged in the crash, was later moved to the roadside.
The fatal incident, which unfolded in Gilgil, led to a major traffic jam as police worked to manage the situation.
It would later emerge that the fatalities were all from Kandara, Murang'a County.
During their memorial service held on October 4 in Kandara, Lands Cabinet Secretary Alice Wahome emphasised the importance of extending comprehensive support to families affected by the tragedy.
She acknowledged that the incident had taken away key providers, leaving behind widows, orphans, and other vulnerable dependents.
In response, Wahome announced plans to host a fundraiser later in the month aimed at raising resources to assist the grieving families.
She explained that the funds would be directed toward essential needs such as food and education for the children.
While financial aid may not ease the emotional burden, Wahome noted that it would offer stability and help the families cope during this difficult time.
