Several people are feared dead after being in caught in the midst of an accident in Kiambu County.

A truch is reported to have lost control and ramming into a hardware shop in the Mutarakwa junction in Limuru on Saturday, October 25.

According to sources, the lorry, which was ferrying alcoholic drinks, was being oversped when it fell on the roof of the shop.

Onlookers showed up at the scene, with some striving to loot the load.

The fatalities and victims were yet to be outed at the time of publishing. The rescue mission was however underway.

This happened just hours after another accident was reported in Gilgil, Nakuru County.

A tragic road accident claimed the lives of at least six people early Saturday morning.

The collision occurred near Soysambu in Gilgil along the Nairobi-Nakuru Highway, involving a Toyota Caldina saloon car and an oncoming truck.

Reports indicate the crash happened around 4 am as the car attempted to overtake while the truck approached at high speed.

Gilgil Sub-County Police Commander Winstone Wakio confirmed the incident, noting the circumstances surrounding the overtaking maneuver.

The deceased were taken to the Gilgil Sub-County Hospital mortuary, with the damaged vehicles being removed from the scene and towed to Gilgil Police Station.

The Gilgil crash followed another one in Kariandusi on September 28.

The devastating road accident claimed the lives of at least 13 people and left several others injured.

The crash occurred near Kariandusi in Gilgil, along the Nakuru-Nairobi Highway, involving a passenger matatu and a truck.

Witnesses quickly responded to assist with rescue efforts as police secured the area and began investigations.

Photos from the scene revealed that the truck’s tractor had veered off the road, with its trailer obstructing traffic.

The 14-seater matatu, which sustained severe damage, was later moved to the roadside.

It would later be confirmed that all the deceased were residents of Kandara in Murang'a County.
