In a statement on Sunday, November 16, the Embassy urged its citizens to strictly abide by the Kenyan laws, cultural customs, and to uphold mutual respect with Kenyans.

“We are extremely disappointed to see such an incident occur. As we are informed, the company's management has immediately terminated the Chinese worker's contract and will consider further disciplinary action,” the embassy stated.
Further, the Chinese Embassy said the incident should not disrupt the longstanding ties between Chinese and Kenyan companies.
“We believe this isolated incident should not affect investment cooperation between Chinese and Kenyan companies, but it is a reminder to all Chinese citizens in Kenya to uphold the principle of mutual respect with Kenyan friends and behave in accordance to the laws, regulations, and cultural customs of Kenya,” the Embassy added.
On Sunday, TCM Roofing Mabati Suppliers, where the incident happened, announced that the contract of the Chinese national has been terminated.
The company also said efforts were underway to deport the Chinese national back to China.
"It is important to clarify that the person involved is just a worker and not the investor. We deeply regret the incident and assure our customers, partners, and the public that immediate disciplinary action has been taken.
"His employment contract has been terminated immediately, and arrangements are already in progress to have him returned to China as soon as possible, despite the reconciliation that happened after the incident," the company stated.
In the viral video, the Chinese national was seen hitting his Kenyan colleague multiple times, provoking widespread outrage online.
Despite the shocking assault, the Kenyan expressed willingness to forgive the Chinese man and move past the incident.
“I have forgiven him. I will not listen to what people say because the disagreement has ended. He is my boss, and he will remain my boss," he added.
