IEBC is conducting by-elections for MCAs in 15 wards, 6 National Assembly seats and one Senate seat. 

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) is on Thursday, November 27 conducting by-elections for MCAs in 15 wards, 6 National Assembly seats for Banissa, Kasipul, Magarini, Malava, Mbeere North, and Ugunja constituencies and a Member of Senate seat for Baringo County.

5:00 PM 

Voting ends across the 22 by-election areas.  Presiding officers will proceed to open the ballot boxes, count the ballots, and tabulate the results at the polling stations.

IEBC denies allegations of ballot stuffing in the ongoing by-elections, terms them  'misleading and inaccurate.'

"Circulating allegations of ballot stuffing are misleading and inaccurate. Our ballot management procedures make such claims practically impossible. Voting is conducted in the full presence of agents, observers & the media.

"Each ballot paper contains multiple security features that cannot be reproduced. We urge the public to rely on verified information from the Commission and reject falsehoods meant to undermine the Electoral process," IEBC stated.

Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna condemns the violence witnessed during the ongoing by-elections. 

"Today has to be one of the bloodiest election days in recent history. All the violence being witnessed across the Country, from Kabuchai to Malava to Kasipul point, either to incompetence in the security command or their outright involvement in planning and executing it. CS Murkomen and his team must take responsibility for failing to secure the safety of all involved," he stated.
