Kenya Power has announced scheduled power interruptions across five counties on Sunday, December 7.

In a notice on Saturday, December 6, the company said the outages are meant to facilitate essential maintenance works 

According to the notice, the planned maintenance will span five counties, namely Nairobi, Machakos, Uasin Gishu, Kisumu, and Kakamega.

In Nairobi County, along Bunyala Road, power will be cut from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., affecting Bunyala Rd, Commercial Street, Baricho Rd, Dunga Rd, Dunga Close, Witu Rd, and adjacent customers.

A section of Enterprise Road, Road B, and Road C will also be off from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., impacting Road B, Kuguru Roop, Zoa Taka, Bachu Industries, Falcon Rd, KHE Ltd, Rubis, the whole of Falco Rd, part of Road C, Naivas Warehouse, General Motors, Sameer Rd, Safe Tec Solutions, Colour Print, and surrounding consumers.

Parts of the ICD area will be off from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., covering ICD and adjacent customers.

Along Mombasa Road, the outage from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. will affect Ramco Mombasa Rd, Phillips Business Park, UR Home, Schneider Electric, Doshi Group of Companies, Ipemans, South Field Mall, Gertrude’s Children’s Hospital Embakasi, Rudis Petrol Station North Airport Rd, Hebatula, Press Masters, Marina Hospital, Sheba Medical Centre, IPBS, and adjacent customers.

In Imara Daima, the same 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. window will affect Maziwa Stage, M-Gas Mukuru Depot, Villa Police Station, Wapewape Rd, Embakasi Girls, Muindi Mweusi Supermarket Mukuru kwa Njenga, Chaminade, St. Mary’s Hospital Mukuru kwa Njenga, Kware Police Post, Mukuru kwa Njenga Primary, Kware Statehouse, Pipeline Chairmans, Muindi Mweusi Supermarket Pipeline, part of Plot 10, and nearby customers.

Another section of Catherine Dereva Road and Pipeline will also be off from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. 

Those affected include Scion Hospital, V Club, Joharis, Mukuru Health Centre, part of Villafranca Estate, Kings Millennium, St. Bhakita, Takoir Distributors, Mukuru Educational Centre and Penda Medical Centre Embakasi.

Bamba 70, Unique Estate, Seyani Brothers, Kenya Builders, Honey Suckle, King of Judah Ministries, Swaminarayan School, and neighbouring customers will also be affected.

A separate Imara Daima zone covering Riara School, Muimara Estate, Imara Daima Estate, Imaara Mall, Villafranca Estate, ICC Imara, Daima Springs, Imara Garden Estate, Amara Park, and Sunrise Park Estate will also face cuts from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

In Machakos County, two major industrial corridors will be affected from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Along EPZ Road, the outage will impact Nodor, African Coffee Roasters, Avocado Processing, Parachichi, Hela, Royal Apparel, and neighbouring customers.

Along Namanga Road, affected customers include Alliance, CP Power EA Ltd, EAPC Precast Concrete, and nearby consumers.

In the North Rift, parts of Uasin Gishu County, specifically Soy and Furfural areas, will be off from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. 

The affected locations include Soy, Likuyani, Imbinga, Ivugwi, Lumino, Navilus, Kabobo Farm, Kipsomba, Tarakwa, Chemoset, Lugulu, Chemororoch, Furfural, Mawe Tatu, Nangili, Kongoni, and surrounding areas.

In the Western Region, parts of Kisumu County, mainly the Rota area, will be affected from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. This includes Rota, Holo, Kombewa, Yago, Ngere, Kolenyo, Wanga Rot, Riat, Bodi, and adjacent customers.

Lastly, Kakamega County will see an outage in Mumias Town from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., affecting Mumias Town, St. Mary's, Nyengesi, Manyatta, Mumias Level 4, Shitsitswi, Bomani, St. Peters, and nearby customers.
