The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has announced a temporary traffic disruption along a section of Mombasa Road.
In a notice on Thursday, December 11, the authority said the affected section will be between the Airtel Complex and General Motors.
The section will be closed from Thursday at 10:00 PM to Friday, December 12, at 6:00 AM. It will again be closed from Friday at 10:00 PM to Saturday, December 13, at 6:00 AM.
“The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) wishes to notify the public that a section of Mombasa Road (A8) near Panari Hotel will experience traffic disruption along the Mombasa bound lanes from Thursday, December 11, 2025 at 10.00 pm to Friday December 12, 2025 at 6.00 am and from Friday December 12, 2025 at 10.00 pm to Saturday December 13, 2025 at 6.00 am,” read the notice in part.
KeNHA said the temporary closure of the section is to allow for the installation of the fabricated footbridge beams.

The authority further advised motorists to follow the proposed management plan and to cooperate with traffic marshals and police officers who will be on site.
“KeNHA advises motorists to follow the proposed traffic management plan below and cooperate with the police and traffic marshals on site,” KeNHA added.
This comes days after the authority announced a planned temporary closure of a section of Mombasa Road between the Nyayo National Stadium Roundabout and the Museum Hill Interchange.
In a notice on Tuesday, November 25, KeNHA said the closure is necessary to enable a 21-kilometre World AIDS Day Half Marathon to take place safely.
The marathon was held on Sunday, November 30, 2025, from 6:00 AM to 10:30 AM.
"The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) wishes to notify the public that a section of Mombasa Road (A8) between Nyayo National Stadium Roundabout and Museum Hill Interchange will experience traffic disruption on Sunday, November 30, 2025, from 6.00 am to 10.30 am," the statement read.
