The family of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs Principal Secretary Korir Sing’oei has been thrown into mourning following the death of his father, Mzee John Kibiego Ole Sing’oei.
The news, confirmed on Thursday, December 11, prompted an outpouring of sympathy from senior government officials, led by Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi.
Mudavadi described the emotional burden of losing a father, noting the irreplaceable role a father plays in shaping one’s path and giving meaning to life.
"The loss of a father carries a weight that is difficult to describe. A father’s presence shapes our direction, anchors our confidence and gives meaning to the everyday journey of life," he said.
The Prime Cabinet Secretary expressed solidarity with PS Sing’oei and his entire family as they mourn their loss, emphasizing the painful nature of the moment.

"I stand with Principal Secretary Dr. Korir Sing'Oei, his family and their loved ones as they mourn the passing of his father, Mzee John Kibiego Ole Sing’oei, who departed after a short illness. This is a deeply painful moment, and I extend my heartfelt condolences to the entire family," he stated.
Mudavadi also highlighted the character of the late Mzee Sing’oei, describing him as a man of wisdom, strength, integrity, and kindness
"Mzee Sing’oei was more than a parent, he was a pillar of wisdom, calm strength and unshakable integrity whose influence stretched far beyond his home. His humility and kindness touched countless lives, leaving a mark that will not fade with time," he added.
Mudavadi further said that the late patriarch’s values and spirit would continue living through the people he mentored and the life he modeled.
"As we remember him, we hold onto the comforting truth that his guidance, generosity and gentle spirit will continue to shine through the people he shaped and the values he lived by," he further said.
Mudavadi concluded by extending official condolences on behalf of his office and the Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, celebrating the life and legacy of Mzee Sing’oei.
"On behalf of the Office of the Prime Cabinet Secretary, the Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs and our entire team, we celebrate the life of Mzee Sing’oei and recognise the profound legacy he leaves behind.

Elsewhere, earlier Thursday, State House Comptroller Katoo Ole Metito announced the death of Daniel Ole Sambu, a United Democratic Alliance (UDA) National Executive Committee (NEC) Member.
In his statement on Thursday, Metito expressed his grief, describing Sambu as a trusted ally who played a crucial role in his political journey
"It is with profound sorrow that I convey my deepest condolences to the family and community of Kajiado South on the untimely passing of Daniel Ole Sambu.
"Daniel was a steadfast friend, a dedicated public servant, and an intrinsic part of my political journey. He served with unmatched diligence and loyalty as my first Personal Assistant for five years after my election as MP, providing the crucial foundational support for my work," he said.
Reflecting on Daniel’s rise within the ruling party, Metito noted that his elevation showcased his abilities and commitment.
"His rise to a UDA National Executive Committee (NEC) Member reflected his sharp political acumen and tireless commitment to the party," he added.
Metito concluded by offering comfort to the bereaved family.
"To his wife, the children, and the entire family: May the Almighty grant you strength and peace to bear this irreplaceable loss. We mourn a great leader, but celebrate a life dedicated to serve the community, and conservation. Rest in peace, Daniel," he concluded.
