The Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) has announced the return of its festive season bus shuttle services to selected national parks.
In a statement on Tuesday, December 16, KWS said the shuttle services will operate on specific days throughout the festive season under the Jiachilie in Kenya Parks holiday campaign.
According to the agency, the services will be available at the Nairobi National Park, Aberdare National Park, and Lake Nakuru National Park.
In announcing the move, KWS said the service will resume starting this weekend and will run on limited days during the holiday period.
"Starting this weekend, 20th December, we’re bringing back the bus shuttle service on weekends and public holidays only through the festive season as part of the Jiachilie in Kenya Parks holiday campaign.

At Nairobi National Park, shuttle charges for Citizens and East Africa Community (EAC) visitors are set at Ksh1,500 for adults and Ksh750 for children, while residents will pay Ksh2,000 for adults and Ksh1,000 for children.
Two trips will be available daily at 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., with the pickup point at the Nairobi National Park Main Gate.
For Aberdare National Park, Citizens and EAC visitors will pay Ksh1,000 for adults and Ksh750 for children, while residents will be charged Ksh1,500 for adults and Ksh1,000 for children.
The shuttle will operate one trip at 9:00 a.m., with pickup at the Post Office in Nyeri.
At Lake Nakuru National Park, shuttle fees for Citizens and EAC visitors are Ksh1,750 for adults and Ksh850 for children, while residents will pay Ksh2,000 for adults and Ksh1,000 for children.
Two daily trips are scheduled at 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., with pickup at the Railways area near the police station.

Notably, earlier this month, Kenya Railways announced the deployment of an additional Madaraka Express Passenger Service train to facilitate the surge in travel expected during the festive season.
In an announcement on Tuesday, December 2, the corporation confirmed that the train will operate from Monday, December 8, to Monday, January 5, 2026.
"We will be running an additional Madaraka Express Passenger Service train from Monday 8th December 2025 to Monday 5th January 2026 to accommodate the increase in passenger demand during this period," the notice read.
According to the schedule shared by Kenya Railways, the additional Nairobi–Mombasa train will depart the Nairobi Terminus at 09:40am, arriving in Voi at 1:35pm before proceeding to Mombasa where it will reach at 3:35pm.
The Mombasa–Nairobi service will depart Mombasa at 4:30pm, make a stop in Voi at 6:15pm, and finally arrive in Nairobi at 10:55pm.
A day later, Kenya Railways announced the resumption of the Nanyuki Safari Train, offering travelers a convenient travel option between Nairobi and Nanyuki.
In a notice on Wednesday, December 3, the agency said the train departs Nairobi at 9:00am every Friday, making stops in Makadara, Dandora, Mwiki, Githurai, Kahawa, Ruiru, Thika, Mitubiri, Makuyu, Maragua, Murang’a, Sagana, Karatina, Kiganjo, Naro Moru, and arrives in Nanyuki at 4:49pm.
The return journey starts in Nanyuki every Sunday at 9:00am, following the same route back to Nairobi, where it arrives at 4:46pm.
"The Nanyuki Safari makes a return trip to Nairobi every Sunday at 9.00a.m. Enjoy the scenic views of Kenya's Central Region as it makes it way back to the capital," the notice read.
