ODM Deputy Party Leader Governor Wycliffe Oparanya has reiterated his willingness to work with Deputy President William Ruto ahead of the 2022 general election.
Speaking during a recent interview, Oparanya noted that while he is ready to work with Ruto that does not mean he’ll ditch the ODM party for Ruto-linked UDA party.]
Explaining why he is open to working with the DP, Oparanya noted that the latter is the undisputed leader of the Rift Valley region, and as such, he cannot be ignored.
The Rift Valley region boasts of millions of voters who can easily sway the outcome of an election if you manage to have the voters on your side.

“You can be his enemy, but the Deputy President is my friend. Kenyans should allow leaders to express themselves and talk freely.
“I cannot ignore Ruto. He has his people intact. Nobody can beat him in Rift Valley,” he said.
The Kakamega governor further noted that he’ll be hosting a series of meetings with other senior political leaders in the coming future.
Some of the leaders he is set to meet include; President Uhuru Kenyatta, Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka and his ANC counterpart Musalia Mudavadi.
“I will be meeting the Wiper leader very soon. I also want to meet the President and leaders of other parties, among them Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetang’ula, to discuss the same,” he opined.
