High Court has suspended the appointment of LSK representative Dorothy Jemator to the IEBC selection panel.
The decision was made on Wednesday, April 28 2021 as Deputy Chief Justice Philomena Mwilu expected to swear in the panel this afternoon.
In a Gazette Notice dated April 26, 2021, President Uhuru Kenyatta named Jemator, former Constitutional Implementation Commission vice-chair Elizabeth Muli, Gideon Solonka, James Awuori, Elizabeth Odundo, Joseph Mutie and Farudin Abdalla as members of the panel.
The panel will nominate replacements for the four IEBC commissioners who resigned in 2017 and 2018.

'In exercise of the powers conferred in Section 7a (2) of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Act 2011. I, Uhuru Kenyatta, President and Commander in Chief of the Defence Forces declare vacancies in four positions of members of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission," the notice read in part.
The Head of State's declaration comes when the IEBC has been criticized for its efficiency to deliver credible elections in the country.
IEBC is also expected to conduct a referendum should the Constitution Amendment Bill 2020 also known as the Building Bridges Initiatives (BBI) BBI sails through parliament.
