Garissa County OCS Michael Munyalo Wambua is under investigation for allegedly shooting dead an unarmed man.

The OCS is accused of shooting dead Kimathi Moriss Kaliunga at DRC area along Bula Sheikh Road.

Reports indicate that OCS and the late Kaliunga were involved in a confrontation at the DRC club over a damsel leading to the fatal shooting.

Garissa County Commander Ranson Lolmodoni has confirmed the fatal shooting noting that the county DCIO is on top of the investigations.


"…We attended the scene and in fact, it is our officers who took the body to the morgue. So we are waiting for the next of kin to come to identify the body,” Lolmodoni told a local daily.

The body of the deceased has been taken to Garissa Mortuary while awaiting postmortem.

The incident comes barely a week after Embakasi Directorate of Criminal Investigations Officer (DCIO) Samuel Mwongela was arrested for allegedly shooting and killing a watchman at an establishment in Kayole area, Nairobi.

Mwongela is alleged to have murdered the guard after a quarrel ensued between them.

Inspector-General of Police Hillary Mutyambai confirmed the arrest and ordered a thorough probe into the matter.

“He has been arrested for among others probe into murder and misuse of his weapon,” IG Mutyambai said.
