Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) Deputy Party Leader Cleophas Malala has vowed to unite Rigathi Gachagua and Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna for a joint ticket ahead of the 2027 General Election.
Speaking during a rally in Kiambu Town on Friday, August 7, Malala stated that he would woo Sifuna so that he can join hands with Gachagua, birthing a formidable team.
He argued that a ticket that unifies the Mount Kenya Region and Western Kenya would be a force to reckon with in 2027.
However, he hinted that Sifuna could probably be his party leader's running mate, maintaining that Gachagua was the most suitable candidate to face President William Ruto on the ballot.
"On behalf of the people of the Western Region, I will sit down with my brother Edwin Sifuna so that he can forge ties with Gachagua so that we can remove Ruto from office. When these two unite, we will surely win the election," Malala stated.

The DCP Deputy Party Leader added that if Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka decides to work with the former Deputy President and Sifuna, then the victory in the 2027 elections would be sealed even before polling stations are closed.
Gachagua-allied leaders including Kiambu Senator Karungo Thang'wa and his Nyandarua counterpart John Methu, stated that the ex-DP was the best pick fr the United Opposition.
Thang'wa and Methu demanded respect from some of the leaders in the Opposition, who had directly, or through junior leaders, undermined Gachagua's presidential bid.
Meanwhile, the Nairobi Senator took his Linda Mwananchi popularity campaign to Busia County, where he reiterated that he was as qualified as any other candidate to run for the Presidency.
Sifuna clapped back at President William Ruto for claiming that he lacked the experience. He argued that if having experience meant abductions and extra-judicial killings, then he had better be without it.
The former ODM Secretary General maintained that the Opposition would unite and replicate the 2002 moment, when the Opposition united against the KANU regime.
