Kenya Power has announced planned electricity interruptions in 11 counties on Tuesday, August 11, to facilitate routine maintenance works.
In a notice on Monday, August 10, the company said the outages will affect selected areas in Nakuru, Kisumu, Bungoma, Kakamega, Migori, Murang’a, Meru, Nyeri, Kiambu, Kilifi and Mombasa counties.
In Nakuru County, the affected area will be Kabarak University and surrounding locations.
The interruption is scheduled from 9.00 a.m. to 3.00 p.m. and will affect the whole of Kabarak University and High School, Kabarak Guest House, Summit Springs, Rafiki Oloika Road, Sun & Shield, Rolling Farm, Rawhide, Ravine Dairy and adjacent customers.
In Kisumu County, Kenya Power will interrupt electricity supply in Canaan Estate and the Public Works Offices area from 9.00 a.m. to 3.00 p.m.

The affected locations include Kanyakwar Estate, Public Works Offices, Canaan Estate, St. Claire Children's Home, Affordable Houses Kanyakwar and adjacent customers.
The utility will also carry out maintenance in the KESREF and Great Lakes University area of Kisumu from 9.00 a.m. to 3.00 p.m.
Great Lakes University, Kianja, KESREF and adjacent customers will be affected.
In Bungoma County, the Webuye Jaggery area will experience an interruption from 9.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m.
The affected areas include Munyikana, Mwalim House, sections of Dinah, United Millers, Molo, Santa Barbra, Malaha, Sirisia, Bunjosi, and Webuye Jaggery.
Noah Wekesa, Kapsokwony, Maeni, Makhese, Bituyu, Mkulima, Mwangale, Matulo, Milo, Ngwelo, Makhele and Mang’ana will also be affected.

Parts of Kakamega County will also be affected between 9.00 a.m. and 5.00 p.m. The outage will cover Kaburengu, Chimoi, Manda, Bishop Njenga and adjacent customers.
In Migori County, the Kamagambo and Nyabigege areas are scheduled for an outage from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.
The affected locations include Kibo, Maryland Hotel, Kamagambo TTC, Siala TVET, Marera, Kanyandigro, Kobado, Nyabigege, Kameji, Lwala Community Hospital and adjacent customers.
In Murang’a County, maintenance will affect Gat ura, Mwago and Kiarutara from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.
The affected areas include Kagongo, Kiarutara, Mwago, Gatura Market, Gaiteguru, Kiandiu, Kiarutara Coolant, Kiganjo and Kiritu, together with adjacent customers.
Parts of Meru County will experience a longer interruption running from 8.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.
The affected areas include Gimpine Primary School, Thaari, part of Kianjai, Uuru, Miathene, Kirukire, Kathiiri, Karimba Primary School, Miathene KMTC, Kanjalu Girls, Ithamare, Mwithu C/Fact, Giunku, Kiandiu, Kitheo and adjacent customers.
In Nyeri County, the Rutuguru Market and Primary area will be affected from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. The interruption will cover parts of Marina, Mama Mumbi, Rutuguru Dispensary and adjacent customers.
Kiambu County is also on the scheduled maintenance list, with an outage in Nyambare and Farmers Choice areas from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.
The affected locations include Nyambare, Gatarama, Farmers Choice Factory, Nyamweru, Kinyogori, Ngarariga and adjacent customers.
On the Coast, parts of Kilifi County will experience an interruption from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.
The affected locations in Malindi include Malindi Airport, Msabaha, Kizingo, Baraka Chembe, Kwachocha, Thalathameli, Malindi High and Takaye, as well as adjacent customers.
In Mombasa County, the Bombolulu and Maweni areas will also be without electricity from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.
The affected locations include Hakika Estate, Bombolulu Workshop, Jasmin Water, Sea Horse, Bombolulu Sports, Bombolulu Heights Apartments, Viena Police, Kisumu Ndogo, Maweni Primary School, Gichanga Estate, Kidongobasi, Mgongeni Police, VOK, Affordable Housing and adjacent customers.
