Kenyan international midfielder Timothy Ouma has joined English Championship side Charlton Athletic on a season-long loan from Czech First League club Slavia Prague.
In a statement on Monday, August 10, Charlton Athletic confirmed the signing, revealing that the deal includes an option to complete a permanent transfer.
"Charlton Athletic are delighted to announce the signing of Kenya international Timothy Ouma on a season-long loan from Czech First League club Slavia Prague, with an option to make the move permanent," the statement read.
The club also confirmed that Ouma is the seventh player recruited during the current summer transfer window, following the arrivals of Ivan Mesík, Billy Koumetio, Karlan Grant, Danny McNamara, Millenic Alli and Nathaniel Chalobah.
"Ouma becomes the Addicks’ seventh signing of the summer transfer window following the acquisitions of Ivan Mesík, Billy Koumetio, Karlan Grant, Danny McNamara, Millenic Alli and Nathaniel Chalobah," the statement added.

Ouma expressed his excitement at beginning the new chapter with Charlton and pledged to give his best as he looks to contribute to the team's ambitions.
"I'm grateful to be here. I'll give my all and do my best to help the team achieve. I’m looking forward to seeing the supporters and hearing them cheer every tackle, every duel and every goal," he said.
On the other hand, Charlton manager Nathan Jones said the club had followed Ouma for a considerable period and highlighted the midfielder's athletic and technical qualities.
He added that Ouma's previous experience would strengthen the team's midfield options.
"We’re delighted to get Timothy over the line. He’s a player that we’ve monitored for a long, long time and he comes with real good pedigree. He’s an athletic, technical midfield player who has had some good experience and he’ll add real quality to our midfield," he noted.
Charlton managing director James Rodwell said Ouma had been admired by the club for some time and fitted the profile of player the club wanted as it continued to develop its squad.
He pointed to the midfielder's athleticism, ability on the ball and presence in midfield as qualities that would benefit the team.
"We're delighted to bring Timothy to the club. He's a player we've admired for some time and someone who fits the profile we identified as we continue to move the squad forward. He brings athleticism, quality on the ball and a real presence in midfield, and we're looking forward to seeing him in a Charlton shirt," he stated.
Rodwell further confirmed that Charlton had negotiated an option to make Ouma's transfer permanent, subject to conditions in the agreement.
"We've also secured an option to make the transfer permanent, subject to certain conditions, which puts us in a strong position should Timothy contribute in the way we expect him to," he added.
Born in Nairobi, Ouma began his professional career with hometown club Nairobi City Stars, where he spent two years before moving to Sweden to join top-flight side IF Elfsborg in the summer of 2022.
He spent three seasons in Sweden and made 13 appearances in the Europa League during that period before securing a move to Czech side Slavia Prague.
During the 2025/26 season, Ouma played on loan in Poland for Lech Poznań, gaining additional European competition experience while helping the club win the Ekstraklasa title.
At international level, Ouma has earned 12 caps for Kenya. He made his senior debut in November 2021 during Kenya's 1-1 draw against Uganda.
