Kenya Power has announced planned power maintenance that will affect parts of five counties on Friday, August 14.

In a notice on Thursday, August 13, the company said the scheduled outages will affect selected areas in Kisumu, Kakamega, Migori, Meru and Mombasa counties.

In Kisumu County, areas around Riat and SOS will experience a power interruption from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. 

The affected customers include Susan Owiyo, SOS Children’s Home, Kango Enterprises, Kanyakwar, Campusindustries Riat and Kabila Poultry Farm, among other adjacent customers.

In Kakamega County, Kenya Power will carry out maintenance in Matete and Nambilima between 9.00 a.m. and 5.00 p.m. 

The affected areas include Matete Market, Mbande, Nambilima, Butali Sugar and Butali Market, as well as adjacent customers.

Parts of Migori County will also be affected by the planned maintenance between 9.00 a.m. and 5.00 p.m. 

The areas listed include Nyamuga and Nyarach, with customers in Ogengó, Nyarach, Nyaburu, Nyamuga, Ngodhe, Odienya, Opapo, Nyangau, Kudho and Ofwanga among those expected to experience the interruption.

In Meru County, the scheduled maintenance will run for a longer period, from 8.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. 

Areas around Kinaa, KWS Office and Kiengu Market will be affected, including Kaweru, Kihutini, Kipkona, Kinaa Market, KWS, Rhino Camp, and Njoune.

Others are Kamiruru, Nthare, Nguyuyu, Matindui, Kiengu, Kabuitu, Kiamuringa, Kanjoo, Mangala, Ikweta, Kanake, Therone, Thambiro, Materine and Garbatula.

In Mombasa County, power maintenance will affect Dolphine and Serena from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. 

Customers listed by Kenya Power include Dolphine, Flamingo Pride Inn, Tembo Conference Centre, Kiluwa, Shasha, Navy, and Shimo la Tewa High Schol.

Shanzu Teachers College, Pride Inn Serena, Shanzu Garden, Cowrie Shell, Go Cart and Petrociny, together with adjacent customers will also be affected.
