Gachagua alluded to a plan to remove Siaya Senator Oburu Oginga as ODM Party Leader.

On Tuesday, August 18, Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) Leader Rigathi Gachagua alluded to a plan to remove Siaya Senator Oburu Oginga as ODM Party Leader.

Speaking in Wamunyoro, Gachagua claimed that a section of leaders allied to President William Ruto were pushing for Oburu's removal, claiming that he was incapable of leading the party.

According to him, the leaders were worried that the senator's age came with some limitations that could hinder him from effectively campaigning for Ruto's re-election.

"Yesterday, Ruto's people in ODM told him that Oburu cannot lead his campaign because he struggles to walk. We saw the other day he could not even read his speech.

"They told Ruto that there was a need to remove Oburu. So Oburu, they are coming for you, and when Riggy G tells you that your wife is pregnant, you had better buy diapers," the DCP Leader stated.

The former Deputy President accused the ODM politicians of planning the attack on Linda Mwananchi. He accused them of working together with Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen and Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo.

He claimed that police officers had intimated to him that Murkomen was under instructions to deploy goons to cause mayhem across the country ahead of 2027 so that the General Elections could be postponed.

"Murkomen has been briefed to cause chaos in Kenya and make the country ungovernable so that the IEBC can postpone the election for two years and William Ruto can continue to be in office.

"He is colluding with the IEBC Chair so that Ruto can declare a State of Emergency for two years, finish stealing, then go home," he alleged.

Gachagua appealed to the international community to rein in President William Ruto before the country plunges into political instability, adding that it would affect the entire Horn of Africa.

He reiterated his claim that Ruto was the mastermind of goons in the country because, despite pledging five times that he would deal with them, nothing had changed.

The DCP leader's sentiments came days after he warned tourists and investors to keep off the country because it had turned into a goon nation.

He stated that nobody would be safe in a nation where the goons ran the streets, and stated that if the matter escalates, Kenya would plunge into anarchy.
