Ng'eno died hours after Gachagua offered to clear his Ksh1.8 million hospital bill.

Paul Ng'eno, the brother of former Emurua Dikirr Member of Parliament (MP) the late Johana Ng'eno, is dead.

In a statement issued on Saturday, August 22, by Bernard Ngeno alias Arap Buluu, the late Johana's Personal Assistant, he confirmed Ng'eno's death.

Arap Buluu sent his heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased, especially his mother, Mama Mary Tamas.

"I convey my message of condolences to the family of Arap Temas, for the loss of Paul Ngeno, who was brother to the late Hon. Johana Ngeno. We say pole to mama Mary and the whole family," he stated.

The late Ng'eno passed away on Friday evening after his condition deteriorated while he was receiving medical attention at a hospital in Eldoret.

His death came just hours after the Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) Leader Rigathi Gachagua committed to clearing the Ksh1.8 million hospital bill that had accrued during his treatment.

Gachagua, who accused the government of abandoning Mama Temas and her family, claimed that no state official had offered to help foot the bill.

“I have told Ng’eno’s mother that we will take care of the bill. Together with my friends, we will settle the matter and ensure that her son, who is in hospital, is taken care of,” he stated.

He further promised the mother of the deceased Ng'eno brothers that he would build a mausoleum for the late Johana Ng'eno, and instructed designers to come up with a design.

The former Deputy President further disclosed that he had shared some of his harvest with the family, bringing in several sacks of foodstuffs.

"As a son of the Mountain, I was honoured to share some of my agricultural produce with Mama Mary Temas, symbolising the continued bond and friendship that no one can break.

Once again, we extend our deepest condolences. May God comfort you, Mama," Gachagua disclosed.

The former DP claimed that the government had tried to stop him from visiting the Ng'eno family. He further thanked the locals for guaranteeing his safety during his visit.
